Cookie was kind of new to the tribe. She'd just escaped the clutches of twolegs when she came to the tribe. It was already after the raid. Though she was a kittypet, she was just as good as any other warrior. She fought with her friend Sunny at the twoleg nest they lived in, and hunted there as well. It all came naturally like she had been doing everything since she was a kit. She caught huge prey and soon adapted easily to tribe life. Cookie loved it. She also loved another cat, Oliveclaw. The bloodthirsty cat attracted her attention and held her fast. She told herself he was only an interesting cat, but down inside, she truly knew she loved him. Her thoughts were always clear and lucid. She couldn't confuse herself if she knew something was true. Cookie just typically accepted the fact.
Right now, she was sitting on a large stump, her eyelids fluttering between sleep and wakefulness. Cookie was very tired and was doing all she could to keep them open. She had told Oliveclaw to meet her here. He probably wouldn't show up since other cats never did if she asked them. She had a strong personality but she was kind and caring though most cats didn't like her or didn't trust her.

Oliveclaw Let the River run Red...
Oliveclaw strode into the clearing with his head in the clouds. Things were different in the tribe ever since Mousefoot had left. His tribe mates were always grumbling about how the young she-cat was a traitor but secretly they all were wishing they had escaped too. His tribe mates also were hunting alot more, afriad that the new leader of the tribe would take his anger, at Mousefoot leaving, on them. They were trying to make the tribe leader happy, which was pretty hard to do.
Looking around him, Oliveclaw tried to find the black and white he was suppose to meet. A tribe mate named Cookie, who had just joined the tribe, had asked him to meet her at Tall trees at this time. Bewildered, Oliveclaw had agreed to do just that but had almost forgotten about his promise until he'd seen Cookie run out of camp. He didn't know what she wanted to talk about but he was going to keep his promise, even if he was a blood thirsty savage like alot of loners and kittypets called him. Maybe even clan cats called him that. But what did he care?? They were just weak and mad that he was more skilled than them.
Suddenly a shape appeared in the distance. It was Cookie, barely awake on a stone next to Tall Trees. Something jumped inside of him as he looked at the pretty small she-cat but he couldn't put an emotion to it... not yet anyway. "Cookie!" Oliveclaw meowed as he walked up to the other tribe cat. "What did you want to talk about?" He smiled at the beautiful feline, which is funny for he never smiles. "Couldn't we just talk about it in camp?" His innocent smile turned into an evil one as he continued. "Wait.. you're planning to kill a clan cat aren't you? And you had to bring me along cause I'm the best ever known!" Oliveclaw and joked some more with Cookie.

Cookie didn't laugh at what Oliveclaw called a joke, but stared straight ahead in the distance. He voice slowly came back to her and she spoke in monotone as she kept her eyes away from Oliveclaw. "Have you ever felt strongly about someone but you just can't find the words to tell them how you feel? You just sort if run out if words and your voice just leaves you." Her words flowed smoothly as she faced forward. She smiled without her eyes straying toward him. "I feel like that now, but I don't know if I should listen to my heart. I've never actually said this yo anyone, but I love you." The tenderness in her voice couldn't be mistaken, she was really telling the truth. Jumping off of the stump she was perched on, she slowly walked over to where Oliveclaw was. She purred as she rubbed her head against his shoulder. She had never truly felt love in her life. She didn't even love her blood relatives considering they abandoned her. In his ear, she slowly whispered, "I love you..." Her voice faded. Cookie didn't typically rush into her feelings like this, but she couldn't hold back.

Oliveclaw Let the river red...
Oliveclaw backed away from Cookie with surprise. "You.. you.. love me??" He laughed uncomfortably. How could anyone love a tyrant like him? Oliveclaw had killed many cats and swim in their blood! He wasn't the cat he was when Alder-root had fallin for him. The ginger tom was evil and he lived with killers to prove it. But inside Oliveclaw was a caring hurt saint who could love with his whole heart. Could Cookie see through the evil and see that he was just hurt mentally? That kind of attracted him to Cookie even though he didn't know if he felt the same way about her. She was beautiful and did love him for who he was...
No! He couldn't put this poor she-cat through the hell he was living. Oliveclaw was sure he felt a little love toward Cookie but he knew she would be hurt and confused that he spent so much time plotting the death of his father, the leader of Skyclan. He had to think of her feelings not his own hormones. "Cookie.." He began sadly. "You must not love me.. I'm a dirt-bag. I don't deserve your love.. I have killed many cats in my time and hate my father. I have no right to be happy... and have no right to find love. I'm not the happy feline I was back in Windclan... I live in a tribe that kills clan cats when not long ago I was one! I'm not loyal.. I don't deserve anything.." Oliveclaw stared at Cookie with regret spilling out of him.
"I have failed Windclan.. and everyone I know.."

Hurt didn't show in Cookie's eyes, she had expected this somehow. She knew that it took time for others to fall in love with a cat when they barely knew eachother. She understood perfectly well, but she couldn't stand for it. "I don't care about your past Oliveclaw, I care about your future... our future. We can be happy together... Please..... I'll be lost without you like I have been for the past several seasons. I need a loving touch in my life... that could be you..... that will be you." She corrected herself. Why couldn't he love her? Why couldn't he at least pretend until his love was no longer spurious but genuine. Her purring ceased and her eyes grew large. "Would you really have the heart to abandon me? Though you have lived with so much, could this be the thing that destroys you? Please Oliveclaw...... please..." Her eyes pleaded and her heart beat sped up and slowed down. What would he say? Her heart would be broken. Timidness, for the first time, crept into her chilling blood.
The warm sensation was gone. She would do anything for this cat, but what would he do for her? Thoughts flashed through her mind. Her heart continued it's mixed speeds. Her mind whirred with unusual confusion. She couldn't stand it much longer. "Well, what are you going to say? do I need to kill myself, or live my life to the fullest with you?" She hoped that might do the trick, but she wasn't sure. Cookie's ears were pointed forward, listening intently for his reply. "I'll join you in your little world, even if it is like hell..."

Oliveclaw Let the River run red..
Oliveclaw looked down at Cookie hopefully and smiled. The first time he had smiled happily in a long long time. "I love you too, Cookie!" He whispered softly and licked the smaller she-cat's ear. He couldn't believe that someone actually loved him for who he was. Someone actually looked inside the murder and loved him and see good in him. Just like Alder-root and Dreampaw had back in the forest. They had loved him and cared about him, but that was before they even knew that he'd turn into a blood thirsty monster. Would they have still loved him? If they were still alive? No, Cookie was the only one who ever truly loved him. She would love him till the day he died and even after that.
"So what do we do now?" He asked.sorry muse got drained good.

Looking up lovingly at Oliveclaw, she smiled, "I knew you loved me from the very start." She sighed and rubbed her head against his chest fur. Purring, her smile broadened. Her excitement grew at the prospect of no longer being alone in camp. All her lonliness would be gone and other cats might not try to avoid her. This could be her chance to at least be more accepted by her tribe mates. "Lets go back to camp. There's nothing left for us to do here." She didn't wait for a response but began walking back to camp, satisfied and happy at her new best, best friend; her mate, Oliveclaw.
sorry for no muse
