Scratchpaw couldn't wait. This was his first training session ever! Well, besides that one time with Mousefoot when he was a loner, but that didn't matter anymore. Scratchpaw's heart beat rapidly in deadly excitement. He couldn't contain it. He had wanted to go sooner, but with preparation for an attack, like what happened, Aldersong had prolonged the training session until today. The sun was barely up, but Scratchpaw was already ready. He smiled with pleasure at the mere thought. He was going to train today! It was too much, and Scratchpaw couldn't take it. Where was Aldersong? She should be ready to go teach him and train him!
No other cat was awake except the cat watching the camp at the front entrance. Scratchpaw couldn't see who it was, bit that didn't matter. Sunny bounced up and down excitedly. He stood staring at the warriors den in apprehension. Where was she?! Scratchpaw was getting frustrated. His patience ran low, like always. He dared not enter the warriors den while all the cats occupying it were asleep, but how would Aldersong know to come out immidietely. If he pretended there was an attack.... No, he would get in too much trouble than it was worth but.... No ideas came to him that wouldn't automatically schedule him to get clean moss, check the elders for ticks, and do forth. Well, Scratchpaw didn't know what to do yet, but he needed to go to the bathroom bad. Before it was an emmbaressing emergency, he rushed to the dirt place. When he returned to his post in front of the warriors den, he sat in a forced politeness while he waited for Aldersong.

Aldersong Beauty comes to those who wait...
Aldersong walked slowly toward the entrance of the camp, a giant rabbit clamped in her mouth. she had completly forgotten about Scratchpaw's training session, too focused on hunting for the clan. There were kits about to turn into apprentices... meaning she must hunt more until they were fully warriors. Then her clan would be thriving, which meant Bloodclan would back off and the mysterious cats would be killed.
The mysterious cats had lead an attack a week before, trying to kill all Skyclan cats. With only two warriors, a deputy, and a leader to fight the black and brown cats, the unknown felines had an advange until Amberstar killed their leader. That had sent the mysterious cats running to their home, crying for their mamas. Now, the body of the mysterious cats leader lay in the Skyclanners camp. His amber eyes staring evilly up in the skyclan, as if he was still fighting even though he was dead. Amberstar moped around camp from now on, totally heart broken that he had killed a cat. Even if the cat that was killed, was as evil as the cat devil himself.
Suddenly a smell shot into Aldersong's nose. "Scratchpaw.." The brown she-cat whispered to herself. The small feline looked around and spotted her apprentice standing by the warriors den. His strong features stood out to her, he definatly would make a good apprentice. She started to walk over to the new apprentice but stopped herself, Aldersong would have to test him first... to see if the tom could react to a surprise attack. The brown she-cat really did hate it when her mentor had surprised attacked her but when Aldersong became a warrior it all made sense. She would have to know how to defend herself if that happened. Scratchpaw would have to learn the same way if he was going to be a warrior.
Aldersong crouched and prepared to spring, careful not to make any noise for all the warriors were out of camp meaning it was very quiet. She looked around and made sure no one was watching her and sprang...
She landed on top of the younger tom, he obivously hadn't expected the blow. "Hopefully... you'll know how to fight back.." She whispered into his ear as batted at Scratchpaw face, claws sheathed. Aldersong moved over to Scratchpaw's back and waited for the former loner to make his move.

Scratchpaw jumped with surprise at the sudden weight on his back. He had had experience with fighting when he was a loner, so he expected it to be easy during training. He carefully sheathed his claws, just waiting to impress his pretty mentor. Scratchpaw looked up to and aspired to be just like his mentor. She seemed so skilled in everything that Scratchpaw just had to impress her. He'd thought she'd been in the warriors den sleeping, but maybe she'd planned on surprising him! Scratchpaw liked the idea of her getting up to surprise him. Who could resist his charm and likeableness? Scratchpaw had it all. Who could hate him? Who could dislike him? He was so fabulous, someone would have to be given freshkill for a month to hate him! Aldersong was Scratchpaw's idea of beauty and his slight crush on her made him try harder. He fought carefully with ferociousness but in a calm way. He rolled Aldersong off his back and leapt free of her paws. He smiled kindly at her and said, "Your finally here! Where were you?! I've been waiting for like forever!"
He sat down in a relaxed manner and stared at Aldersong with loving eyes. Even though it wasn't right for him to love his mentor, he did even if he wouldn't admit it.
uggg!! sorry, this sucked but oh well sorry it's kinda short!

Aldersong Beauty comes to those who wait...
Aldersong looked up to find herself rolled onto the ground by her apprentice, the apprentice that had never been trained before. Or at least by her, Scratchpaw had told her about the time he was a loner and was taken in by a former thunderclanner. she had taught him a few moves. Still, the tom had surprised her with his strength and skill. His old mentor has taught him well Aldersong smiled to herself. Scratchpaw must be well trained to not have freaked out like must new apprentices would.
"Amazing job Scratchpaw!" The small pretty brown warrior praised. "Not many apprentices can throw their mentors off so quickly. You will be a natural warrior!" Aldersong purred and touched the tom's shoulder with her tail, unaware of his un-natural kind smile fixed on her face. "Starclan will be proud of you when you arrive up there!" She smiled and took her tail off of Scratchpaw's shoulder. "now..!" Aldersong said suddenly. "who wants to start their first day of training?!"
************************************************
Aldersong raced into the forest, as fast as her short legs could carry her. "Hurry Scratchpaw... lets see if you can run as fast as me!" She hoped he wouldn't, since she WAS his mentor and he WAS a new apprentice. That made her run faster and faster until she reached the training hollow. The green moss felt fluffy beneath her feet as she panted. she looked around for Scratchpaw and soon spotted him. "What battle move would you like to learn first?"

Scratchpaw saw Aldersong in the corner of his lovestruck eyes. He bolted off after her. When she reached the training hollow, he was right behind her. His heart was pounding with excitement. He heard her ask him what he wanted to do first, but all he could think of was "train". He said that to her also. A leaf was knocked down from a leafy green tree and Scratchpaw batted at it like a playful kitten. Just after he'd relized what he'd done, his pelt burned with embaressment and he wished he could bury himself in a hole and die. He smiled his kittenish smile and sat back on his haunches, trying to show his mood was unaffected. His innocent smile could win the charm of almost anyone moved by an adorable, young kitten.
"Lets train! I just can't wait! Oh my Starclan, this is awesome! I mean, Im being trained by a real current warrior, well, apart from Mousefoot, but she wasn't a current warrior then!" Scratchpaw was just bouncing with excitement. Overjoyed at the prospect of training. All past embaressment was forgotten. His innocent smile returned.
sorry all my posts have been so short, I need those musetanks pronto!!!!

Aldersong beauty comes to those who waitAldersong padded past the excited apprentice so she could face him. She smiled at Scratchpaw tried to remember being this enthusiastic about learning battle moves. I have never liked fighting.. The light brown she-cat thought. Espescially when I was an apprentice.. Aldersong smiled at herself and turned back to Scratchpaw. "I'm glad you're excited Scratchpaw.. I was worried you were going to be like me.. I didn't want to hurt anyone so I hide in a briar patch so my mentor wouldn't make me fight.." The young warriorous giggled and looked down at Scratchpaw again. "Now.. lets get to work, stories later.."
Sighing, Aldersong waved her tail at her apprentice making him pay close attension to her. This was her least favorite move, it was called The sky-drop! She would have to show him, it was one of the moves Skyclans most of the time. It was where you climb up a tree, watched for an invader and fall on them when they least expect it. If a big muscular tom used it on a young apprentice, the apprentice could die or be paralized from the neck down. It was a easy move to master and created a harmful blow. But it still scared Aldersong when she saw it in battles.
"Ok..." She began to her apprentice. "You must listen closely.. if you do not do this right you may miss the cat you are attacking and hit the ground hard. But if you land on the cat wrong you will maybe paralize them. Nobody wants that.." Aldersong started to climb a tree as she talked. "This move is called the Sky-drop.. you must climb up in a tree and drop down on the enemy. But.. you must not make any sound for the enemy might have great hearing.. that could mess up the whole thing. Now watch me.. my mentor taught me how to do this.. he was the old leader of Skyclan, before Amberstar came to the mountains..." She paused her sentence to get onto a high branch. "see that branch down there.. that is where I'm gonna jump.."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Aldersong jumped, the wind blew her ears back like she was about to hiss at a cat. It felt like hours before she felt the twig beneath her paws break beneath her. She hadn't done the Sky-drop in so long, hopefully she had done it right. Aldersong looked at her paws, they were placed perfectly (like thy should) on the stick. Her claws were unshealthed and she stood in an athetic stance. "I did it.." She whispered
Scratchpaw watched in a fascinated daze as Aldersong flew threw the air like a bird. He slender bady gliding gracefully as it sliced through the air. She had executed it perfectly. He'd never seen it done before and his amazed eyes gleamed with glee at Aldersong. She did everything perfect. She was perfect. She had everything too. Why couldn't he be more like her? Scratchpaw closed his eyes for a brief moment, intelectually inclined to see himself doing this move himself, perfectly. Even better than perfect. In his head, he watched himself glide even more smoothly through the air. He imagined himself being congratulated by Aldersong and them being together forever, despite the minor age difference. A broad smile appeared on his face at his momentary dream that would last a lifetime. Scratchpaw often fanticized about the impossible. He saw incredible scenes in his mind that could never be. Everything was the way he wanted it to be. No once of truth in it. He sighed heavily and decided he would go for it. "Good job Aldersong, but watch me do better." He smiled pleasantly at her and began climbing the tree.
He had had hardly any experience climbing trees since he was used to living in the open, but he managed to scrabble up the tree and went on a small branch. The branch was obviously rotting and would not be able yo hold his weight, but Scratchoaw saw none of it. He held his chin high, without looking down, and walked out along the branch. The branch he was on suddenly gave way and down tumbled Scratchpaw. He yowled a hysterical yowl as his body twisted through the air. He had gone several tail lengths higher than Aldersong and was barely avoiding thick branches as he fell. The ground was coming into sight and it grew closer and closer. His feminine yowl reverberated off trees, making the high pitched sound even louder. With a tremendous thud, he landed painfully on his back. He feet hung in mid air and he lay in his back on the soft forest floor. He felt no pain. He felt nothing. It felt unnatural and awkward. In the corner of his eye, he could see Aldersomg. His own panic stricken face remained in place. He couldn't move anything. He had chosen too high of a perch and the wring branch.
Aldersong Beauty comes to those who wait..
Aldersong watched in pure horror as her apprentice tumbled to the ground. "Oh my starclan..." She shouted as the light brown she-cat hurried toward Scratchpaw. As Aldersong reached the poor apprentice she noticed that the younger tom wasn't in pain but she knew that she'd have to ask the question. "Are you ok Scratchpaw! Speak to me!! Are you ok?!!" Aldersong was freaking out, Scratchpaw was her apprentice and was to young to die. That was.. if he was hurt.
As Aldersong stood over the hurt apprentice she heard a rustle in the bramble bushes around her. She opened her mouth to smell who it was. "Amberstar?" She breathed thankfully, the light brown she-cat was expecting it to be a tribe cat looking for a Skyclanner to kill. As she spoke the large Skyclanner appeared from the bushes, he was obviously patroling the territory. "Oh hi Aldersong.." He chirped as he saw her. "I was just patroling this part of the territory.. by the way... have you seen and mysterious cats around?" He voice sounded suspicious as if he was warning any intruding cat around that he meant business. Aldersong smiled weakly at the older tom and shook her small head innocently. Then she remembered her poor apprentice lying frozen behind her. "But Scratchpaw IS hurt!" Amberstar raised his eye brows at Aldersong as if he was asking: 'did the mysterious cats harm him?' "And.. he fell out of a tree when I was teaching him the Sky-drop!" She said, trying to reassure her leader. "I think he's ok.. but you might want to check him out.." Aldersong walked over to Scratchpaw again and stood over him. "Scratchpaw.... please be ok..
His lips seemed frozen shut. He slowly moved his lips to say he was perfectly calm, but no sound came out. Only his silence followed. The stillness of his breath and his mind terrified him. His brain felt muddled and confused. He couldn't make anything out. Suddenly, everything started to blur and shapes and figures melted together. He squinted his eyes but it only made it worse. He was still laying on his back with his legs rigid straight up in the air. His neck was stiff and a small scratch bled in his exposed stomach. His breath was coming more shallow now, and all he could see was black. Nothing was seen by his eyes. It seemed he was blind but he was not. His mind ebbed away from his thoughts. Nothing made sense. He couldn't think, couldn't move, couldn't see. All he could do was lie in that same position and rest. He couldn't even think. He drifted off into a restless sleep. He dreamed of nothing. His legs were paralyzed, at least for now, and a hard hit on the head and made him unable see. A small stick jabbed into his side but he couldn't feel it. It was like he was living on nothingness. Both mute and blind, he felt like he was swirling in a bug black vortex. His sleeping mind was dull and had no awareness. His senses were dimmed and everything just seemed black. He slept unfitfully.
sorry it's so short, I couldn't think of what else to put
